Joseph Kim 1966 – 2019

Kim, Joseph Joseph Kim, age 52, of Kentwood passed away unexpectedly at his homphoto_20190706_wm0143793_0_20190706.jpgxe. Joseph was born in Lansing, MI on July 12, 1966, the son of Dr. Youn S. and Suzie Kim. He graduated from Forest Hills Northern High School and attended Calvin College. He greatly enjoyed his work with art, especially sculpting. He was preceded in death by his mother, Suzie Kim. Joseph is survived by his father, Dr. Youn Kim; his two brothers and his sister: Paul Kim, John (Mary) Kim, Bonnie Brameijer, three nephews and one niece. The family will receive friends at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 12th from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a local charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.

Providence – Joseph S. Kim, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, 3, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Kyong Ja Kim. Born May 31, 1943, in Seoul, South Korea, he was a son of the late Soon R. and Soon B. Kim. He came to the United States in 1966 and became a U.S. citizen. He was the founder and owner of the first Korean market in Rhode Island. He enjoyed playing golf and dancing with his wife. He was an enthusiastic member of St. Mary Catholic Church choir. Besides his loving wife, Joe leaves his son, Gene, and daughter, Mizi; two brothers and three sisters in South Korea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, March 8, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 538 Broadway, Providence. Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted. Dr. C. Joseph Kim, M.D.

ST. JOSEPH — Dr. C. Joseph Kim, M.D., 64, died Monday, April 17, 2006, at his home in Fremont, Ohio. He was born March 2, 1942, in Seoul, Korea to Hae Jin Kim and In Sil Lee. He married Frances C. Conlin, Nov. 24, 1987, in St. Joseph, and she passed away Jan. 9, 2006.He graduated with a Medical Degree from Catholic Medical College, Seoul, Korea, in 1967. He then served in the Korean Army as a medic until he retired in 1972 as a captain. Dr. Kim repeated his entire six years of medical studies/examination and physician licensing in Korea as well as in the United States. He worked a rotating internship at St. Thomas Hospital, Akron, Ohio, from 1972-73. He then did his OB/GYN residency at Rochester General Hospital in New York, where he was a chief resident from 1975-76. He was a Diplomate, American Board, OB/GYN, 1979, and recertified in 1989. Dr. Kim had an OB/GYN practice in St. Joseph from 1978 to 1990 before moving his practice to Fremont, where he practiced for the past 16 years; from 2003 to 2006 he was in General Family Practice.He was a Life Fellow with the American College of Obstetricians/Gynecologists. He was a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine 1974 to 2002. He was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship Church where he volunteered in the nursery. Dr. Kim was born again as a Christian on Aug. 21, 1999. He loved to golf, downhill ski and ride his motorcycle. He is survived by sons, Steve (Christina) Kim, Denver, Colo., Yongjoon (Dayna) Orione Kim, Rochester, N.Y., Nicholas D. Fisher, Pensacola, Fla.; daughters, Jennifer M. and Amy K. Kim, both of Fremont; sisters, Won Sik Kim, Jong Sik Kim, Soo Mee Kim, Myung Sik Kim, Hyun Sik Kim, In Sik Kim, Yeo Sik Pyo; brother, Kwang Sik Kim.He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.Visitation: Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Victory Christian Fellowship Church. Service: Thursday, April 20, 2006, at 3 p.m. at the church. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials: Kim Family Memorial Fund.

Eye doctor Ophthalmologist

Dr. Joseph C. Kim was a great Ophthalmologist. An eye doctor. He was a surgeon at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Malden Hospital & Melrose/Wakefield Hospital. He is missed.
